"Become the Greatest Version of Yourself" Scholarship
The Phi Delta Theta "Become the Greatest Version of Yourself" Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded to three freshmen attending Georgia Tech who exemplify our three cardinal principles of Friendship, Sound Learning, and Moral Rectitude. The scholarship is open to any male freshman. Recipients of the scholarship are not required to rush or join Phi Delta Theta. The scholarship will be awarded in the amounts of $500, $300, and $200 to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively. Apply now at the bottom of this page.
Academics
Academics is the largest single focus of the members of this chapter. Georgia Delta consistently keeps a GPA over 3.7 as compared to the all men’s average of 3.59 and has maintained a GPA above the all men’s average for the past 10 years. Most recently, in the spring of 2020, Georgia Delta ranked 4th out of 32 active chapters at Georgia Tech with an average GPA of 3.74. This is due to peer tutoring resources from fellow brothers who have already taken these courses and can provide help with example assignments and guidance for assessments. For those students that fall below our minimum GPA of 2.5, we have a specific recovery program and resources to help them get back on track academically.
Campus Involvement
Our brothers are deeply involved on campus and are leaders in clubs and organizations such as Engineers Without Borders, Investments Committee, Executive Round Table, the Steven A. Denning Technology and Management program, Student Government Association, Engineering Honors Society, Grand Challenges LLC, Interfraternity Council, and various club sports. Having this many brothers involved across campus allows others an easy route to get involved and quickly hold leadership positions. We also help foster innovation and most recently had brothers compete as finalists in the 2020 InVenture Prize.
Philanthropy
Our national philanthropy is the LiveLikeLou foundation, named after our alumni Lou Gehrig, who suffered from ALS. The LiveLikeLou Foundation is committed to making an impact on ALS research while it supports the children of families affected by ALS. We are able to support this organization financially through our yearly philanthropy events, such as the annual Iron Phive-K Run and our Crawfish Boil in the Spring. This past year we were able to raise over $12,000 for the foundation between these events. We also have taken a more personal approach to philanthropy through the LiveLikeLou foundation’s "Adopt an ALS Family" program. Aside from sponsoring our own philanthropy, brothers of Phi Delta Theta also participate in other campus philanthropy events such as FTK, Sting Hunger, the National Association for Suicide Prevention, and many others.
